The TweetMeme Wiki is now live for those of you who would like to help translate the TweetMeme plug-in to other languages. It doesn’t matter how big or small the contribution is, we appreciate it all. We hope to have completed full translations for as many different languages as you the community provide very soon.

You can find the wiki at: tweetmeme.wikispaces.com

Editing privileges is available to members of the wiki only, so a quick sign-up on the site will allow you to start contributing there and then.

Current languages available to help translate:
Arabic, Bengali, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.

We are also open to languages not currently shown on the wiki, just edit away using the same template layout as our other languages.  If there are any translations that people feel need discussion please do this on the discussion section of the page where there is a discrepancy.

Bieber Mania Comes to TweetMeme!

justin bieberToday we launched our Justin Bieber channel.  We’ve seen so many of your Bieber fans out there commenting on content on TweetMeme that you now have your very own Justin Bieber Channel full of fan and news content sorrounding Justin Bieber and his music.  We’re always looking to see what communities need channels of content and it certainly seems like the Justin Bieber fans need somewhere to share their support for the young star.

Key features of the channel are the ability to comment (and of course retweet that comment to your friends) and have conversations with those who have left comments. You can even put our little green retweet button on your own fan site by grabbing the embed code from here.

New Windows Live Writer TweetMeme Plugins

Windows Live WriterWe are happy to announce that we have added two new Windows Live Writer Plugins to our offering with the help and support of the Live Writer developer community.  Our thanks go out to Scott Lovegrove who has carefully and lovingly created the Windows Live Writer TweetMeme plugin for WordPress.com along with the Windows Live Writer Follow Button Plugin.  Whilst he was on a role and doing these new plugins he also updated the much loved Windows Live Writer TweetMeme plugin to include support for hashtags.

We hope you like the plugins and if you are a developer and want to do cool stuff with our API’s then please do take a peak at our developer documents!  Tell us about your great creations and we’ll give you the spotlight!

TweetMeme Widget Updated

Today we launched an update to our TweetMeme Widget. We have a number of new features that are integrated into the new widget. These include the ability to filter content in the widget by category, channel and domain.  This is giving you the user far more control over the information that you show in your widget.

For those of you who have had or are currently considering purchasing one of our custom channels this means that you can now use the widget in your own site to show the content of your own channel.

Also for those of you who have larger websites along the lines of Mashable and Techcrunch, you should find that you can track the top stories on your own domain through the widget too (this is a very new feature and as such please treat it as a beta feature). See the example widget below for the Formula 1 custom channel.  Also take a look at the widget page and see how much more useful it is now than it was.

If you have feedback or suggestions on the widget then please pop here and let us know what you think.

Interested in having a custom channel built for your brand or company then get in touch and we’ll be happy to discuss this further with you.
